Purpose:
The Central Minnesota EMS Region periodically makes funds available to EMS providers to offset training or equipment costs.
Eligibility:
- All agencies providing public pre-hospital EMS response in the 12 county Central Minnesota Region are eligible, unless otherwise noted. Agencies must routinely respond to medical calls in their communities.
- When applying for reimbursement, all paperwork must be filled out completely and submitted to the Region office (including, but not limited to: the application and supporting documentation).
- All paperwork must be submitted electronically or postmarked by the date the Central MN EMS Region has designated as the deadline.
- Reimbursement is based on the availability of grant funding and is dispensed on a first come, first serve basis. Requests received after the deadline will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis as remaining grant funds allow.
- Funds will not be distributed until the Central MN EMS Region receives a copy of the receipt for the selected training service or equipment item.
Appeals:
In the event an agency's application for reimbursement is denied due to late or incomplete paperwork, the agency may appeal the decision if there is a compelling circumstance.
Agencies must notify the Central MN EMS Region, in writing, of their intent to appeal within 14 business days after receiving receipt of the denied application.
Appeals will be heard by the Central Minnesota Joint Powers Board at their next regularly scheduled meeting. The appellant agency may state their case to the Joint Powers Board in person or through a written statement.
